When Apple announced the iPad, I immediately imagined that it would be a superior way to read PDF books in a tablet-style format. On the Apple iPad Specs page, there is a single mention of PDF support for the iPad – in the Mail application as an attachment. However, there must be a way to view PDF files on the iPad natively, right? Let’s walk through two main ways currently available to view PDF files on the iPad.
1. First you need Calibre – a free and open source eBook management application. (coverts PDF to epub)
2. Download and install Calibre (This application is compatible with Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux.)
3. Run Calibre application and you need to choose a location for your books and choose your book reader. (choose Default if you don’t understand)
4. Launch the interface of Calibre.
5. Click Add books button on the top left
6. Click Convert E-books
7. Choose EPUB as output format and click OK, it will convert.
8. Now Connect your iPad and launch iTunes.
9. click File >> Add to Library.
10. Select the epub you created by the application mentioned above. (The epub file will appear in the iTunes)
11. Select the books you want to sync to the iPad, click Sync button.
12. Launch iBooks on iPad, and happily enjoy reading ebooks.
